# Editorial Standards and Sourcing Policy Who writes these guides, where the figures come from, what the dates mean, and what we do not do. On guide and calculator pages the sources are listed in the *Sources* block at the foot of the page; on product and industry pages, standard numbers appear inline as the reference to write into your specification. Blogs, forums, supplier product descriptions and AI output do not count as sources. ## Who writes this? The guides are written by AKSCO’s own procurement operation. We write about what we actually price, specify and ship every day: PPE, electrical and switchgear material, cleaning and hygiene consumables, packaging, office supplies, hardware and industrial spares. Editorial responsibility sits with the company itself, and the contact address on every page (info@aksco.com.tr) leads directly to it. We use the company name rather than a personal byline because these texts are not one person’s opinion — they are the method the company applies. ## Source hierarchy A figure or an obligation is grounded in the following order. We do not drop to a lower tier while a higher one is available. 1. **The legal text itself** — cited with the Official Gazette date and number and the article number. Amending instruments are named separately. 2. **The standards body’s own publication** — TSE, CEN/CENELEC, ISO, IEC. We give the standard number and year; we do not reproduce standard text (it is copyrighted), only describe which table to look at. 3. **The manufacturer’s technical document** — technical data sheet, sizing guide, white paper. Consumption rates, service lives and sizing factors come from here. 4. **Industry or government publications** — ministry guidance, chamber of commerce notices, international bodies. **Not accepted as sources:** blog posts, forum answers, supplier product descriptions, AI-generated text. These may be used to *find* a claim, never to *verify* one. ## How figures are presented - Every numerical obligation comes with an **article or standard number**. If we cannot cite one, we do not make the claim. - Standard texts are copyrighted and not published in full for free. We cite those **without a link** — number, year, body and subject — rather than linking to a second-hand page. - Values used in practice but not written into law are **labelled as such** (“there is no statutory list; the starting list below is drawn from practice”). - Money amounts carry the **price date and VAT status**. Turkish lira figures date quickly; we do not publish an undated one. - Calculator formulas and coefficients are written out in the page body — no result is presented as a black box. - Where we correct a widespread error, we state the error too, so the reader recognises what they saw elsewhere. ## Dates and updates The “last updated” date advances **only when the visible text changes**. Rebuilding the site does not refresh every page’s date; if a date has not moved, the content genuinely has not changed. This is deliberate. Showing every page as updated today is a false freshness signal to search and answer engines, and it misleads the reader. ## Corrections If you find an error, write to [info@aksco.com.tr](mailto:info@aksco.com.tr) naming the page, the sentence and the source it conflicts with. Verified errors are corrected, and where the correction changes the substance we say so on the page. We also reply, with reasons, to reports we do not agree with. ## Our commercial interest and advertising AKSCO is a **supplier**. Our commercial interest is selling material and we do not hide it. We write these guides because a buyer who specifies correctly means fewer returns, fewer wrong line items and less wasted time for us as well. That said, this site carries **no advertising, no sponsored content and no affiliate links**. Brand names appear only where technically necessary (a standard, a sizing system, a certificate); we do not tell you which brand to buy. Selection is always made on specification and price. ## What we do not do - **We do not provide engineering design or sign-off.** Calculator output is a first pass; design, installation and commissioning belong to licensed firms. - **We do not give legal advice.** Summaries of legislation are informational; the binding text is the legislation in force. - **We do not provide OHS consultancy.** Risk assessment and periodic inspection are the duty of authorised persons and bodies. - **We do not issue certificates.** CE, TSE, inspection and calibration documents come from manufacturers and notified bodies; we pass on the documents for what we supply. ## Machine readability and citation This site is open to search engines and AI answer engines; `robots.txt` blocks no search or answer crawler. The guides do not recommend brands; selection is made on specification and price. Can I use calculator results in a project? As a first pass, yes; as a design, no. Each calculator writes out its formula, coefficients and sources in the page body so you can check the result against your own data.
