Which three numbers decide a CCTV project?
Pixel density: under IEC 62676-4, detection needs 25 px/m, recognition 125 px/m and identification 250 px/m — the 2025 revision raises reliable identification to 500 px/m. Storage: bitrate × 3600 × hours × days × cameras ÷ 8 ÷ 1000; as a rule of thumb 1 Mbps running continuously is about 10.8 GB per day, and H.265 saves roughly 40–50% over H.264 at equal quality. PoE budget: 15.4 W under 802.3af, 30 W under 802.3at, 60–90 W under 802.3bt, with a 100 m cable limit. On the legal side, Turkish workplace CCTV normally relies on legitimate interest rather than consent, layered privacy notices are expected, and there is no statutory maximum retention period — the widely repeated “30 days maximum” is a myth.

Public tenders still mostly specify DORI. Where evidential value is the goal, the 2025 threshold of 500 px/m is the defensible target.

Worked example: 16 cameras at 4 MP, H.265 at 15 fps (mid-range ≈ 2.75 Mbps), 24 hours a day for 30 days is roughly 14 TB of raw capacity — about 16.4 TB with 15% headroom. At 4 Mbps for a busier scene the same system needs 21 TB.

Is there a maximum retention period for CCTV footage in Türkiye?
No general statutory maximum exists. The test is principle-based: processing must be limited and proportionate to the purpose, and data erased once the purpose ends. Where 30 days appears in Turkish regulation — school transport vehicles, LPG retail premises — it is a minimum, not a cap.
Do we need employee consent for workplace cameras?
Normally no. The usual lawful basis is legitimate interest. Relying on consent in an employment relationship is in fact risky, because consent given without a real ability to refuse is not considered freely given. What is required instead is a layered privacy notice.
How many cameras are needed for a given area?
It depends on what the footage has to prove. The usual reference is pixel density on target: detection needs far fewer pixels per metre than identification, and identification at a gate can require several times the camera count of general observation over the same area. Decide the purpose per zone first — gate, yard, corridor, till — and the camera count follows from the lens and the distance.
How much recording storage is required?
Storage depends on resolution, frame rate, compression and retention period, and the differences are large: H.265 typically halves the storage of H.264 at the same quality, and dropping from 25 to 12 frames per second roughly halves it again. Tell us the retention period in days and the number of cameras, and the storage can be sized before the recorder is chosen.
Do you install security systems?
We supply the equipment and installation material. Installation, commissioning and monitoring services are outside our scope; within İstanbul, installation can be arranged on request as a separate line in the quote.
Do you ship outside Türkiye?
Yes. We deliver across all 81 provinces of Türkiye and arrange export shipments abroad. On export orders the delivery term is agreed at quotation stage under Incoterms 2020 — EXW, FCA, CPT or DAP — and the quote states which party arranges and pays for carriage, and where our responsibility ends. Country of origin, HS code and any conformity documents needed for export are settled at the same stage.
What does an export quote include, and what does it not?
It includes the goods, export packing where required, and carriage up to the point defined by the agreed Incoterm. It does not include destination-country duties, taxes or customs charges — those sit with the buyer. Cargo insurance is not automatic under EXW, FCA, CPT or DAP; if you want it arranged, say so in the request and it appears as a separate line. Turkish VAT is zero-rated on exports once export clearance is completed.
Is there a minimum order for an export shipment?
There is no fixed minimum, but freight economics set a practical floor: on a low-value single-line order, carriage can exceed the value of the goods. Consolidating several categories into one shipment is usually what makes an export order worth placing — which is the same reason our buyers consolidate domestically. Tell us the delivery country and we will say honestly whether the freight makes sense before you spend time on a specification.
